Lavena Adella Wilson, 89, DeKalb, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2002, at her home.

Visitation for Lavena Wilson, sister of Betty Masters of Gallatin were held Saturday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Cremation followed visitation. Memorial services were held

Sunday at the funeral home. Inurnment followed the service at Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville.

Verna Anne “Summers” Sharp, 86, formerly of Gallatin, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at her home in Cameron.

Graveside services for Verna Sharp were held Monday at Brown Cemetery in Gallatin.

Arrangements were by McWilliams Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Gallatin.

Marguerite Taylor, 79, Gallatin, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at the Cameron hospital.

Funeral services for Marguerite Taylor will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at McWilliams Family Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial will be at Brown Cemetery, Gallatin. Visitation is after 11 a.m.

John T. Kober, 68, Winston, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at his home.

Funeral services for John Kober will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 28, at the Stroup-Thompson Funeral Home, Winston. Family visitation is from 7 to 8 tonight, at the funeral home.

Bridge load limits re-posted following state inspections

County Commission

Daniel Lynn, bridge supervisor, and James Lewis, foreman, met with the commission reporting that following the state inspections, they are re-posting load limits on many bridges. Also, that the bridge in Union Township on Major Avenue, had been damaged by a vehicle.

Kelly Kilgore, Marcit, made a presentation to employees offering health benefits to employees effective March 1, 2002.

County Clerk

March 6 is the last day to register to vote for the April 2 election

The county clerk’s office is in the process of canvassing voters to verify addresses. This canvass is conducted once every two years. Registered voters will receive a post card, which should only be returned if corrections are necessary.
