Carol Hester, Gallatin, had major back/spine surgery on Nov. 1 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Shawnee Mission, Kan. She was dismissed Nov. 5 and is recovering at home. Carol would appreciate hearing from friends.

Another November firearms deer season is behind us. Statewide there was a record harvest of 205,165 deer. That is an increase of 4,702 deer from last season. In Daviess county there were 2,329 deer taken, and increase of 11 from the Y2K season. In Missouri we had four nonfatal hunting-related incidents and two fatalities. As with all hunting incidents

Kenneth Davis Sr.

Kenneth M. Davis Sr., 82, Port Orange, formerly of St. Joseph and Clarksdale, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at his residence.

A memorial service for Kenneth Davis Sr. was held in Daytona Beach; and two private candlelighting services were held by the Masonic Lodge and Sons of the Revolution. Burial will be at a later date in the Fairport Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Bellevue-Cedar Hill Funeral Home in Daytona

Litton Gibson

Litton “Spencer” Gibson, 84, Kansas City, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at a North Kansas City hospital.

Funeral services for Litton Gibson were held Monday at McWilliams Family Funeral Home-Hope Chapel in Gallatin. Burial was at Brown Cemetery in Gallatin. Memorials may be made in his name to the Children’s Mercy Hospital, in care of the funeral home, 201 S. Market, Gallatin.
