Alyce Eloise (Netherton) Brown, 83, O’Fallon, formerly of Jameson, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at her residence.

Services for Alyce Brown were held Monday at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville. A service was also held at noon on Tuesday at Bram Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Grand River Cemetery at Jameson. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes or Alzheimer’s Associations in care of the Pitman Funeral Home,

Martha (Miller) Keim, 82, Jamesport, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at the home of a daughter, Anna Bontrager, in Jamesport.

Funeral services for Martha Keim were held Monday at Eli Gingerich residence in Jamesport. Burial was at Meadow View Cemetery, Jamesport. Arrangements were by Bram Funeral Home, Jamesport.

Peggy Dooley

Peggy Lou Dooley, 78, Hardin, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at her home.

Funeral services for Peggy Dooley were held Sunday at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial was at the Wakenda Cemetery, north of Hardin. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Children’s Mercy Hospital.

John Walter Sall, Jr.

John Walter Sall Jr., 51, Chandler, Ariz., died Aug. 24, 2001.

Services for John Sall Jr. will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated.

John Walter Sall Jr., 51, Chandler, Ariz., died Aug. 24, 2001.

Mr. Sall had lived in Kansas City until 1989 when the family moved to Arizona.

Gallatin R-5 school board minutes

Gallatin R-5 set the tax levy

Gallatin R-5 set the tax levy at $3.8021 following the Tax Rate Hearing on Aug. 16. The levy is the same as last year’s. Board of Education members received the final budget report from Superintendent James Ruse. The year ended with a $29,000 positive addition to the balance.

Boil order lifted

The City of Gallatin has lifted the precautionary boil order

The City of Gallatin has lifted the precautionary boil order in effect for a small portion of Gallatin. The boil order was issued on Aug. 24 in order to perform repairs to a water main along James Road. Effected residents included those who live along James Road and Mill Street east of Prospect Street.

Deadlines!!! I realize it’s no April 15th, but there are a few upcoming deadlines/dates within the conservation realm that I would like to make waterfowl hunters, physically challenged hunters, and landowners aware of.

If you are a waterfowl hunter who needs a place to hunt, you may be interested to know about MDC’s reservation system. There are 16 managed wetland areas throughout Missouri that are open to public hunting
