A special luminary ceremony held during the American Cancer Society’s Daviess County Relay for Life on Oct. 14
A special luminary ceremony held during the American Cancer Society’s Daviess County Relay for Life remembers those lost to cancer and honors those who have survived. Luminary candles will be lit at the Gallatin High School Track at 8 p.m. on Oct. 14 to represent those individuals.
Anyone desiring to purchase a luminary may do so by contacting Cheryl Alexander at 660-663- 2414. Each luminary candle is $5.
Former and current cancer patients, their families, businesses, civic organizations, and the public are invited to take part in the team event. “Celebration of Life” takes place Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. to Oct. 15 at 6 a.m. at the Gallatin High School Track. Relay for Life is a family-oriented event where participants raise funds to support the activities of the American Cancer Society. Participants camp out in the stadium and when they are not taking their turn walking or running, take part in fun activities and enjoy local entertainment.
