Turkey kills were up in Northwest Missouri in this year’s state firearms season, according to the Missuori Department of Conservation. Statewide, however, the numbers were down from last year.
Statewide totals during the 1999 Fall Firearms Turkey Season which ran from Oct. 11-24 were 14,651. That was 602 fewer turkeys taken throughout the state than last year. The three counties in the state with the highest totals were Macon 484,
