GHS girls fall to 3-10

Gallatin’s loss to Princeton placed them 3-10 overall and 1-6 in the GRC.

Rain forced cancellation of Monday’s non-conference softball game between Gallatin and East Buchanan and postponement of Tuesday’s conference contest between Gallatin and South Harrison. That game was scheduled to be held Sept. 29 at the GHS field.

Gallatin fell to 3-10 overall and 1-6 in the Grand River Conference last Thursday after a 12-1 loss to Princeton.

McFadin is “senior counselor”

Gallatin attorney Richard McFadin has been hnored by the Missouri Bar Association.

Gallatin attorney, Richard E. McFadin, was honored recently as a “Senior Counselor” of The Missouri Bar.

The “Senior Counselor” title is bestowed upon attorneys who have reached the age of 75 years or who have been admitted to The Missouri Bar for 50 years. The recognition ceremonies came during the Opening Luncheon at The Missouri Bar Annual Meeting

New culvert makes history

An arch culvert installed at the junction of Highways 6 and 69 near Altamont last week is the first of its kind in the northwest district, according to Missouri Highway and Transportation Department officials.

History was in the making when the Missouri Department of Highway Transportation put in this arch culvert at the junction of Hwy. 6 & 69 last week. It was the first time a culvert like this

Graveside services for Margaret Stapleton, a native of Jamesport, were held Friday, Sept. 24, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Margaret Courtney Stapleton died Sept. 22, 1999, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Mrs. Stapleton was born in Jamesport and grew up in the Jameson area. She moved to Arizona over 50 years ago.

Funeral services for Virginia Johnson were held Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at the Baptist Church, Jameson, with arrangements by Bram Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial was at Pilot Grove #1 Cemetery, near Jamesport. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Church, Jameson, MO 64647, or Pilot Grove #1 Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
