Earns Eagle Scout award

The Eagle Scout Award was presented to Charles Harvey III on Sunday.

Charles Harvey, III, was presented his Eagle Scout award at a Court of Honor on Sunday, July 25, 1999. He is the son of Chuck and Renita Harvey of Independence; the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Reno of Cameron and Dorothy Harvey of Independence; the great-grandson of Carl Alexander; and the great-nephew of Dale Alexander of Gallatin.

Culvers to celebrate 50th

Charles H. (Chuck) and Doris (Caldwell) Culver of Gallatin will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 3. They were married Aug. 3, 1949, at Gallatin.

The Culvers have two sons, Wayne of Gallatin, and Dick of Warsaw; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Seven Daviess County girls have been named to the year’s All-Star team.

The First National Bank of Gallatin sponsored 14 girls, seven from Daviess County and seven from Harrison County, plus three coaches, to play on an All-Star Team. Brook Carder attended a 4-H Citizenship Workshop held in Jefferson City in June.

Brook Carder attended the 4-H Citizenship Workshop held June 29-30 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City. Brook participated in the legislative session. Representatives and senators helped the 4-H’ers learn how bills make their way through the different branches of our government. The 4-H’ers then performed mock sessions in the Senate Chambers of the State Capital.

Burn victim in fair condition

Kim Clevenger, a Gallatin High School sophomore, was listed in fair condition Tuesday at the KU Medical Center with third degree burns over 25% of her body. Kim was injured last week when a gasoline container exploded in her hands.
