Funeral services were held in Denver, Colo. on July 22. Mr. Crockett,77, died in Fort Collins, Colo.

Funeral services for Robert Crockett, a former resident of Gallatin, were held Thursday, July 22, at Central Christian Church in Denver, Colo. Arrangements were by Allnutt Funeral Service/Drake Road Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern Colorado or Elderhaus of Fort Collins in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.

Pattonsburg school auctioned

The old Pattonsburg elementary school building and contents were auctioned Saturday.

The Pattonsburg elementary school sold at auction Saturday, July 25, for $10,000 to Gene Hager, local farmer and owner of Pattonsburg Tree Service. The sale of miscellaneous items netted the school district around $7,000, according to auctioneer Loren Clay.

Mr. Hager was the only bidder for the 20,000-square-foot structure.

12-year-old dies in lake accident

A 12-year-old Maysville youth died late Sunday afternoon in a Lake Viking accident, the Misouri State Water Patrol said. Dead is Trevor Best, a passenger on one of two boats involved in the mishap which occurred at about 4:40 p.m.

The Rev. David Church, Director of Missions of North Grand River Baptist Association, was the speaker. His message was “The Prodigal Son.” Scripture was from Luke 15:11-24. Amber Hulett reported on her youth mission trip to Wyoming. Missionary birthdays were given by Amanda Bohannon, Amber Hackett and Elizabeth Francis.

Competes in Show Me

Courtney Warford, Pattonsburg, competed in the annual Show Me Games in Columbia.

Courtney Lee Warford, 5, recently competed in the Show Me State Games in Columbia. Courtney competed in the 6 and Under Girls Division in track, placing second in the state in the high jump and eighth in the long jump. She also competed in the 100-meter dash. Receives Seabee scholarship

Brandi Carder has been awarded one of 32 Seabee Memoiral Scholarships valued at $2,000 each.

Brandi Carder was notified by Barbara A. Sisson, Commander CEC, USNR, Chair Scholarship Selection Board, that she was selected to receive one of 32 $2,000 Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association awards given nationwide this fall. The scholarship is renewable the next four years.
