Man dies of gunshot wound

A 29-year-old Jameson died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds Tuesday night, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department said.

Authorities were called to a residence at 219 Walnut in Jameson last night, where a Jameson man died as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Era Huffman d. 1999

Former Gallatin resident Era Huffman, 88, died July 17 at a health care center in Greenfield.

Graveside service and burial for Era Huffman, a former resident of Gallatin, were held Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Civil Bend Christian Cemetery in Pattonsburg. Arrangements were by Lohmeyer- Konantz Funeral Home, Lamar.

Daviess 4-H Fair results

Members of three Daviess County 4-H clubs participated in this year’s county 4-H fair.

The Daviess County 1999 4-H Achievement/Fair was held on Friday and Saturday, July 16 & 17, 1999, with exhibits on display in the Courthouse.

Three Daviess County 4-H clubs participated, Brushy Squirrels 4-H Club, Jamesport; Elm Flat Clever Clovers 4-H Club, Pattonsburg; and Knee Hi 4-H Club, Gallatin.

Soccer teams forming

Registration will be held Saturday in Trenton for Green Hills Soccer teams.

Registration for the Green Hills Soccer Club for the fall season will be held July 31 from 9 a.m. to noon.
