A public meeting will be held in Trenton this month for hearing comments on water pollution control permits for some Premium Standard Farm and Continental Grain sites in Northwest Missouri.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a public availability session and public meeting July 15 at Ketcham Community Center on the North Central Missouri College campus, 1322 Mable, Trenton. The session and meeting will allow citizens additional opportunity to comment on revised water pollution control permits for certain sites operated by Premium Standard Farms and Continental Grain in Daviess, Gentry, Mercer, Putnam and Sullivan counties.
The public availability session, from 4 to 7 p.m., will provide an opportunity for the public to talk informally with representatives from DNR and the Missouri Departments of Agriculture, Health and Conservation.
A more formal public meeting will follow the availability session from 8 to 10 p.m. At the meeting, citizens can comment on the draft permits and have their comments entered into the official record. Questions will not be answered during this portion of the public meeting; however, anyone speaking at the meeting will receive a written reply from DNR once a final decision is made on the permits.
Beginning June 25, 1999, citizens can review the draft permits on the Internet at (http://www.dnr.state.mo.us/deq/wpcp/homewpcp.htm) and at the University of Missouri County Extension offices in Daviess, Gentry, Mercer, Putnam and Sullivan counties.
