I have received a number of inquiries concerning the hybrid sunfish advertised by many fish dealers for private pond stocking. They claim these hybrids grow fast and may reach 2 1/2 to 3 pounds. These claims are true if conditions are right, but this also applies to Bluegill, Redear Sunfish and Green Sunfish.

R-2 audit meeting attracts about 75

Approximately 75 patrons of Pattonsburg R-2 School gathered in the school’s new gymnasium Monday evening as representatives of the Missouri State Auditor’s Office presented findings of an audit of school business primarily focused on the 1997-98 academic year.

The audit was initiated by petition signed by 145 citizens. State auditors compiled a 28-page report with recommendations organized in 11 categories.

Jacob Carter 1933-1999

Funeral services for Jacob Carter were held March 22 at the Baptist Church in McFall with arrangements by Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg. Burial was at McFall Cemetery. Military rites were by Bethany VFW Post #2176 and American Legion Post #216 and Albany VFW Post #5329 and American Legion Post #106.

Jacob “Jake” Carter, 66, McFall, died March 18, 1999, at the Albany hospital.

Mr. Carter was born in Pattonsburg.

Ray Trimble 1905-1999

Funeral services for Ray Trimble were held March 21 at the First Baptist Church in Jamesport with arrangements by Bram Funeral Home, Jamesport. Burial was at the Jamesport Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Comfort Care Hospice, 314 West 4th Street, Cameron, 64429, or the Jamesport Baptist Church.

Ray Trimble, 94, Jamesport, died March 18, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Trimble was born in rural Livingston County.

Beulah Gardner 1914-1999

Funeral services for Beulah Gardner, mother of Curley of Pattonsburg, were held March 21 at the Baptist Church in Breckenridge with arrangements by Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge.

Beulah M. (Pruett) Gardner, 85, Breckenridge, died March 16, 1999, at the Chillicothe hospital.

Mrs. Gardner, a homemaker, was born in Langwood.

In 1930, she married William H. Gardner in Columbia. He is deceased.
